Medical Science Liaison / Senior Medical Science Liaison - Rare Disease

As a Medical Science Liaison at Alexion, AstraZeneca Rare Disease, you will be at the forefront of medical affairs, supporting both marketed therapies and pipeline assets through high-quality scientific exchange and strategic insight gathering.
What you’ll do
Lead high-quality scientific exchange with key experts to advance understanding of rare diseases
Generate and deliver actionable insights that shape medical strategy and planning
Establish and maintain strong, trusted partnerships with clinicians and academic leaders
Collaborate cross-functionally to support launches, lifecycle management, and scientific initiatives
Plan, prioritize, and execute field activity with excellence and autonomy
Continuously advance expertise through learning, scientific engagement, and peer exchange
Essential
Scientific background (medical, pharmacy, PhD, or similar)
Proven ability to communicate complex science clearly and credibly
Strong project and time management skills
Willingness and ability to travel domestically
For Senior Medical Science Liaison: at least 2–3 years’ MSL experience with demonstrated impact
Desirable
Rare disease experience
Prior exposure to neurology, haematology, nephrology, paediatric oncology, or related areas
Experience in scientific education or peer-to-peer training
Launch experience
Leadership potential, with ability to mentor or guide peers (Senior MSL)
